The Little Man Turns 1!!
Jace turned one a couple of weeks ago. I have mixed feelings about him being all grown up. He is so much fun, but I can't believe how time has flown this last year. We kept things real low key, just had a couple of friends over for cupcakes and social time. Jace wanted NOTHING to do with his cake which is kind of crazy and very unlike him. He just wanted to get down and play with his toys.

That little dab of chocolate on his mouth was all he ate and it didn't even really make it in his mouth.

SNOW!!!
We had a warm day the other day and the girls wanted to go out and play in the snow. I thought that Jace would probably enjoy it too so we got him all bundled up and he had the time of his life. When I brought him in after about 30 minutes he screamed and screamed and screamed because he was so upset. This kid loves to be outside!!

Taekwon-Do Tournament
February was a busy month with Taekwon-do. The kids participated in the Top of the World tournament and they each tested for their next belt color. Here are a few pictures from the tournament.
Jessie really wanted to do this tournament even though she had only been in Taekwon-do for a month. We figured it couldn't hurt. She participated in patterns and did one of the only two she knows. It was so cute watching the little kids.
Here she is doing her pattern.
She came in third place and you'd think she had won the grand prize!!! She was absolutely elated! I LOVED watching her eyes light up when she got her medal and trophy.
Here is our girl displaying her awards. Look at that sweet happy face!!
Joseph participated in a couple of different events, but did excellent in sparring. Here he is all geared up for his competition.
He sparred with two different kids and won both of them. They don't kick or hit hard, but they get points when they kick, hit, punch, etc.. they can only kick above the belt and in certain areas on the head. Joseph got a pretty good punch in his nose, which is against the rules, but he just kind of turned his head when the kid went to knock him there. It is pretty cool to watch.
The boys look so silly in this picture because they still have their mouthpieces in their mouths. They were all pretty happy to be standing there with their trophies.
Anyway, the kids worked hard and we were thrilled with their performance at the tournament. It was a good and fun experience for both of them!!

Janie's Haircut
As most of you well know, Janie has had a hard time sprouting much hair. She just has this chunk in the back that keeps growing while the sides don't seem to at all. Last week Jessie decided that she would fix the situation by cutting Janie's hair for her. She only cut a little piece, but ANY piece on Janie's hair would make a difference. I finally decided to go and get all of it cut to one length. She is very pleased with it and has told everyone for the last two days that she got her hair cut. I think she feels so big now. Our little girl definitely looks like she's growing up!
A view from the back. I thought this was important because this is where the look is dramatically different.
A view from the side with her new do. She could still use some more hair, but it looks thicker and even now which is a BIG plus!!

ChristMOOSE and More!
I feel like I'm always trying to catch up on here. Just one shot of the kids on Christmas eve in their pajamas. Joseph is too cool to smile now so this is the best one we could get.
A couple of weeks ago Joseph was walking by the living room window and this is what he saw!!! This was the mama and she was right in the front window, but by the time we got the camera she had moved closer to our broccoli plants and was just outside our front door. As she walked by we looked back and saw her baby coming around the corner of the house and he stopped and hung out in front of the window for a few minutes.

Another random shot comes from a night a while back when the girls and I were making cookies. They always want to eat the dough, lick the batter or whatever right??? Well, I told them not to touch it until I took the bowl away from the KitchenAid and then they could lick the beater. What I meant(and failed to clarify) was that they could use their fingers to get some dough and eat it. I turned around to this instead!!! Where did they learn this???
Joseph's class has been doing a big rain forest project. He got to pick an animal from the rain forest, research it, make a 3D model and then present the whole thing to the class. He chose a Piranha. Here is his model. We had a fun time making it. He and Jeremy did most of it, but I did get to help paint the teeth with glow in the dark paint.
Last but not least is a short video of the up and coming rock star in our home. As you can see he already has some gorgeous female fans!!!:)

Daddy's B-day and Jessie's Concert
Once again I feel like I have so many things to blog about and different events to remember, but today I'm choosing two. Jeremy's birthday was last Sunday so here is a shot from our yummy dessert and present time.
This next one is one of the boys together on Jer's birthday.
Jessie had a little concert at her school. They sang three Christmas songs and then the favorite song of the class. The first video is "Rulodph the Red Nosed Reindeer" and the second one is called "Watermelon Pie."
Joseph had a great concert too, but I wasn't able to get a good enough video at his. We did get to go to his class afterward and have cookies and juice though and that was fun.

Thanksgiving Time!
We had a FABULOUS Thanksgiving. We watched the Macey Day Parade, we cooked, we played, we had friends over for WAY TOO MUCH food, we went sledding and we had a fun relaxing evening together as a family. Here are some photos of our evening together.
Grandma B. sent us a fun recipe for Pilgrim hats so we spent some time making these delicious little treats to start our evening off just right.
Here is a shot of the kids at the half way point on our hats.
For entertainment while we waited for the chocolate to harden we video taped the kids singing songs. This is one of their songs. While we DEFINITELY do NOT proclaim to be the Osmonds or the Vontrapp Family Singers we sure had fun performing!!
And finally... the finished product!!!
